JSW MG Motor India is set to increase the production of the MG Windsor in response to the surging demand for the all-electric crossover. To facilitate this, the company intends to make modifications to its Halol manufacturing facility. In addition to the MG Windsor EV, preparations are underway at the Halol plant for the introduction of new models such as the MG M9 and MG Cyberster, which will be marketed through the premium retail network MG Select.

The MG Windsor has already achieved a production milestone of 15,000 units. However, due to the upcoming modifications at the plant, MG anticipates a temporary slowdown in production during February. Currently, the Halol manufacturing facility has the capacity to produce over 100,000 units annually, with plans to increase this figure to 300,000 units by approximately 2027.

MG is also focused on expanding its product lineup with the introduction of the all-electric roadster MG Cyberster and the electric three-row limousine MG M9, both scheduled for launch in the first half of 2025. These models were recently unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. They will be available through the company's specialized premium retail network, MG Select.

MG aims to ramp up production capacity

In response to the growing demand for the MG Windsor EV and other forthcoming electric vehicles, JSW MG Motor India is set to enhance its production capacity.

Regarding the production strategy, Biju Balendran, Deputy Managing Director of JSW MG Motor India, informed PTI that the company is implementing specific modifications to its facilities to prepare for new offerings under the MG Select line. "We are expanding the capacity of our Halol facility to accommodate the increasing demand for the Windsor. Furthermore, we are making necessary adjustments to ensure we are ready for the new products under MG Select, which are expected to launch in the first half of this year," he stated. He also noted, "As a result, we foresee a temporary slowdown in production during February, which may have a short-term impact on our wholesale figures during this time."
