The MG Windsor EV has proven to be a triumph for the manufacturer since its introduction in September 2024. From October 2024 to January 2025, it held the title of the bestselling electric vehicle in the nation for four straight months, establishing itself as the leading model for MG Motor India.

Furthermore, in March 2025, the EV reclaimed its position as the top seller in the Indian electric passenger car market. Remarkably, within just six months of its release, the MG Windsor EV has achieved sales exceeding 20,000 units. Here are the factors contributing to its popularity.

The MG Windsor EV marks the brand's inaugural model featuring a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, which has considerably reduced the cost of the electric crossover. As a result, the manufacturer has positioned this offering competitively, with prices ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

 The Windsor EV showcases a distinctive design that sets it apart from any crossover currently available, blending stylistic features of a hatchback, multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), and compact SUV. At the front, it boasts a split lighting configuration that includes LED daytime running lights and projector headlights, complemented by a lit MG emblem. The vehicle's side profile is characterized by smooth lines, expansive windows, and alloy wheels, along with a blacked-out pillar on select trims, which creates an illusion of a floating roof.

  The back of the vehicle features integrated LED tail lights, a roof spoiler, and a sloped rear window that enhance its aesthetic appeal. Within the cabin, a dark color palette complemented by bronze and wood details highlights the roominess of the interior, while a panoramic glass roof further accentuates this sense of space.

MG Windsor EV: Features

The MG Windsor is decently packed on the feature front with plenty of features and a spacious cabin. The electric model is equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, auto climate control, a panoramic glass roof, reclining seats, wireless charging, and more. The EV also gets six airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill hold function, and more, as part of the safety kit.

MG Windsor EV: Specifications

MG Windsor EV is powered by a 38 kWh battery pack across all the variants. The electric powertrain churns out 134 bhp peak power and 200 Nm of maximum torque. The EV promises up to 331 kilometre range on a single charge.
