JSW MG Motor India has introduced the 2025 Hector in the Indian market. The starting prices are ₹13. 99 lakh ex-showroom. The 1. 5-litre petrol engine paired with either a manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission is now adept at operating on E20 petrol. JSW MG Motor India has made this change to comply with the Government of India's directive for E20 suitability in gasoline-powered vehicles produced after April 1, 2025. The Hector manufactured after March 31, 2025, will automatically meet the E20 criteria. The MG Astor has been compliant with E20 since the previous year.
MG Hector benefits
JSW MG Motor India has unveiled its 'Midnight Carnival,' which offers a variety of benefits and promotions for the Hector SUV. Customers can take advantage of benefits totaling ₹4 lakh, with this unique offer available at showrooms nationwide. As part of the Midnight Carnival, MG showrooms will stay open until midnight every weekend until June 30, 2025.
This initiative encompasses several value-added benefits with the acquisition of the new Hector, including an extended warranty of 2 years or 1 lakh km, alongside the standard three-year warranty and two additional years of roadside assistance, offering a hassle-free ownership experience for a maximum of five years. The campaign also includes a 50 percent discount on RTO fees and access to MG accessories for currently registered Hector models. In addition, 20 purchasers of the MG Hector will have the opportunity to win a trip to London. For additional information on these offers, customers are encouraged to visit their closest authorized JSW MG Motor India dealerships.
What powers the MG Hector?
JSW MG Motor India provides the Hector with two engine choices: a 1. 5-litre turbo petrol engine and a 2. 0-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol variant generates a maximum output of 142 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. The diesel engine, which is also found in several other SUVs including the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Tata Safari, and Jeep Meridian, produces 168 bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 350 Nm.
Both engines are typically linked with a 6-speed manual transmission. For those preferring an automatic transmission, the petrol engine remains the sole option, featuring a CVT automatic transmission. It is important to note that a dual-clutch automatic transmission was previously available for the petrol engine but was removed due to its poor fuel economy and lackluster responsiveness. The diesel variant, however, does not offer an automatic transmission choice.
Rakesh Sen, Director Sales, JSW MG Motor India stated, “The lasting appeal of the Hector underscores its exceptional quality and alignment with our customers' requirements. The launch of the E20-compliant version clearly demonstrates our commitment to innovation and sustainability in all our endeavors. We strive to deliver vehicles that not only meet customer demands but also contribute significantly to a greener automotive future. ”
