MG Motor is broadening its future vision with the introduction of a new SUV under its developing Cyber sub-brand. The forthcoming model, named MG Cyber X, follows the Cyberster roadster and signals a fresh design and lifestyle approach for the manufacturer.
MG describes the Cyber X as a "city Adventure Toy," a compact SUV that combines an off-road aesthetic with urban practicality. The teaser images released by the company showcase the SUV's upright, boxy silhouette, reminiscent of traditional off-road vehicles like the Toyota Land Cruiser. However, it is expected to remain under the 4.5-meter length threshold, ensuring it remains nimble for city driving.
MG Cyber X: Design
The MG Cyber X boasts a retro-inspired, slab-sided silhouette enhanced by modern design features. Its exterior is distinguished by full-width light bars at both the front and rear, while flush door handles lend a sleek and contemporary side profile. The squared wheel arches contribute to the SUV's rugged character, and an illuminated MG logo is prominently featured at the front and beneath the rear light bar.

Although MG has not yet released detailed technical specifications, reports suggest that the Cyber X will utilize SAIC’s new E3 modular electric platform. This advanced architecture is expected to support semi-solid-state batteries and cell-to-body construction, potentially leading to improved energy density and enhanced structural integrity for the vehicle.
MG Cyberster: India launch and update
The MG Cyber X is set to make its official debut at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show, where an updated version of the Cyberster roadster will also be unveiled. While this refreshed model will be introduced at the Shanghai event, the pre-facelift version of the Cyberster is expected to launch in India shortly. JSW MG Motor India has begun accepting pre-bookings for the forthcoming MG Cyberster electric sports car.
The MG Cyberster will be offered in four distinct exterior color options: Cosmic Silver, Inca Yellow, English White, and Dynamic Red. This electric sports car, touted as the most powerful model from MG to date, is equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack that enables it to travel up to 510 kilometers on a single charge. Featuring dual electric motors, the MG Cyberster generates a peak power of 510 bhp and an impressive maximum torque of 725 Nm. The manufacturer asserts that the MG Cyberster can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
