The new Astor is powered by a dependable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 106.5 bhp of power and 144 Nm of peak torque. This engine can be paired with either of the transmission options available from MG, which include a 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The higher-end Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro variants continue to feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which encompass adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking. Additionally, the Select variant now includes six airbags, enhancing safety within the mid-range trim.

The pricing for the new MG Astor begins at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Astor Sprint MT trim. Other variants include the Astor Shine MT priced at ₹12.47 lakh (ex-showroom), the Astor Select MT at ₹13.81 lakh (ex-showroom), the Astor Select CVT at ₹14.84 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Astor Sharp Pro MT at ₹15.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Astor Sharp Pro CVT is priced at ₹16.48 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Astor Savvy Pro (Ivory) is available for ₹17.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium variant, Astor Savvy Pro (Sangaria Red), is offered at ₹17.55 lakh (ex-showroom).

With its enhanced feature set, the MG Astor is now competitive with other vehicles in the Indian automotive market. The updated MG Astor faces competition from models such as the Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Kia Seltos, and other comparable vehicles.
