Lexus India Hits Top Gear: Records 19% FY25 Growth with March Sales Peak

Lexus India, the luxury automobile manufacturer from Japan, has reported a 19 percent increase in year-on-year growth for the financial year 2024-25 compared to FY24. Furthermore, the first quarter of 2025 demonstrated sustained progress, with a 17 percent rise in sales relative to the first quarter of 2024. Notably, March 2025 marked the highest monthly sales figures ever recorded by Lexus India, achieving a remarkable 61 percent growth compared to March 2024.

The company identified the Lexus NX as a key contributor to this growth during the quarter, showcasing outstanding sales performance. The Lexus LM also experienced strong demand, indicating its increasing popularity. Meanwhile, the RX model maintained consistent sales momentum, with the combined sales of the NX and RX models rising by 63 percent compared to March 2024.

Additionally, the newly opened bookings for the Lexus LX have received a positive response. Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India, remarked that the impressive 19 percent growth in FY 2024-25, along with a robust 17 percent increase in the first quarter of 2025, underscores the brand's dedication to providing unmatched luxury and exceptional customer experiences.

Lexus LX500d: Specs, features and price

In March, the 2025 Lexus LX 500d, the brand's premier SUV, was unveiled with a starting price of ₹3 crore, while the LX 500d Overtrail is available for ₹3.12 crore, both prices being ex-showroom. The 2025 Lexus LX 500d stands out as the sole diesel variant in the company's lineup. It is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine that produces 304 bhp at 4,000 rpm and delivers a peak torque of 700 Nm between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm, coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The SUV features four-wheel drive, Active Height Control, and an Adaptive Variable Suspension system.

The enhancements in the 2025 Lexus LX 500d are extensive. It now includes the new Lexus Safety System +3.0 package, which features Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as a pre-collision system, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Trace Assist, Blindspot Monitoring, Safe Exit Assist, Lane Departure Assist, and auto high beam, among others.

Additionally, the manufacturer has introduced the new Lexus Connect Technology, designed to meet local needs. This technology includes SOS call reminders, roadside assistance, remote functionalities for locking/unlocking, starting/stopping, power window control, immobilization, and more. It also features a "find my car" function, vehicle location tracking, theft alerts, and a vehicle health report with the latest updates. While the cabin layout remains unchanged, Lexus has added a front-row seat massager for enhanced comfort.
