Kia has recently presented its enhanced electric vehicle range with the introduction of the EV4 during the 2025 Kia EV Day held in Spain. Aiming to transform the C-segment, Kia offers the EV4 in both sedan and hatchback configurations, reflecting a distinctive perspective on electric mobility. This model is designed to expand the attractiveness of electric vehicles beyond the traditional SUV and CUV categories, offering a versatile and engaging option for both city driving and extended journeys.

Kia's design philosophy for the EV4 embodies a harmonious combination of contemporary aesthetics and practical utility. The vehicle showcases a low front end, an elongated tail silhouette, and a broad stance, resulting in a sporty yet elegant look. The vertical headlights and the distinctive EV 'Tiger Face' grille enhance its striking presence. At the rear, the sedan variant is equipped with a two-piece spoiler, whereas the hatchback version highlights a more streamlined and dynamic profile.

Inside, the cabin offers a minimal and technology-enabled atmosphere with a free-floating user interface and an asymmetric steering wheel. Features like a rotating armrest, sliding table console and generous cargo space further make the EV practical.

Constructed on Kia's 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV4 is available with two battery configurations: a standard 58.3 kWh option and an extended-range 81.4 kWh variant. The long-range model boasts an impressive claimed driving range of 630 km on a single charge (WLTP), while the hatchback variant offers up to 590 km. Featuring a 150 kW motor positioned at the front, the EV4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed time of 7.4 seconds and achieves a maximum speed of 170 km/h. Its advanced aerodynamic design, which includes a complete underbody cover, results in a low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, thereby improving overall efficiency. The vehicle's fast charging capability allows for a recharge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 31 minutes, facilitating more convenient long-distance travel. Additionally, the model is equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionalities, enabling users to power external devices or return electricity to the grid.

The EV4 incorporates a variety of technological and convenience features designed to elevate the user experience. A digital key system enables access through smartphones and smartwatches, including the Apple Watch. Additionally, the i-Pedal 3.0 system provides adjustable regenerative braking, enhancing both efficiency and comfort. Within the cabin, a 30-inch widescreen display features Kia’s latest connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), which facilitates navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings. The infotainment system is compatible with YouTube, Netflix, and other streaming platforms, and it benefits from ongoing updates through remote over-the-air (OTA) software enhancements. Kia’s AI-driven voice assistant further enriches the driving experience, while intelligent storage options and adaptable seating arrangements optimize the use of interior space.

Kia EV4: Safety

The EV4 prioritizes safety through the integration of Kia's latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), enhancing overall protection. The Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2) system features essential components such as Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, and Driver Attention Warning. Additionally, a Direct Grip Detection System guarantees that the driver maintains control while facilitating smooth adjustments to the ADAS. From a structural perspective, the EV4 is engineered to achieve top safety ratings, aiming for five-star evaluations in both Euro NCAP and US NCAP crash assessments. Its reinforced body structure includes a fortified battery compartment and a roof designed to endure more than five times the vehicle's weight.
