4 hours ago | 5 Views

Kia India recently introduced the Syros SUV, marking a significant addition to the nation's passenger vehicle sector. This new SUV is strategically positioned between the Sonet and the Seltos models. Kia has successfully established a substantial presence in the Indian utility vehicle market with its popular models, including the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens. The launch of the Kia Syros is intended to enhance the South Korean automaker's efforts to capture a larger share of the SUV market in India.

The Kia Sonet faces stiff competition from formidable rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Mahindra XUV 3OO, while the Kia Seltos competes against models like the Hyundai Creta and Honda Elevate. With the upcoming Kia Syros, which will open for bookings on January 3 of the following year, the manufacturer aims to take on competitors positioned alongside both the Seltos and Sonet. The Syros features a contemporary design and an enhanced list of features, positioning it as a more premium offering compared to the Kia Sonet.

Notably, the Kia Syros includes several key features that are absent in the Kia Sonet. Below is a brief overview of the features that the Sonet lacks but are present in the Kia Syros.

Kia Syros vs Kia Sonet: Dimension

The newly launched Kia Syros features dimensions of 3,995 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,680 mm in height. It boasts a wheelbase of 2,550 mm and offers a boot capacity of 465 litres. In comparison, the Kia Sonet measures 3,995 mm in length and 1,790 mm in width, with a height of 1,642 mm and a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. The Sonet provides a storage capacity of 385 litres. The Kia Syros is wider and taller than the Sonet, and it also has a longer wheelbase and greater boot space than its counterpart.

Kia Syros vs Kia Sonet: Features

When comparing the top-tier variants of the Kia Syros and Kia Sonet, both SUVs feature dual digital displays that integrate the touchscreen infotainment systems with the instrument cluster. Additionally, each model is equipped with a comprehensive LED lighting package, automatic climate control that includes rear air conditioning vents, connected car technology, a push start-stop button, ambient lighting, a 360-degree surround view camera, an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), among other features.

Notably, the Kia Syros is equipped with a level 2 ADAS suite, which represents an enhancement over the system found in the Kia Sonet. Furthermore, the Syros offers reclining second-row seats with ventilated back support and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, features that are absent in the Sonet. The dimensions of the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument cluster in the Kia Syros are larger compared to those in the Kia Sonet. In addition, the Syros includes a dual-pane sunroof, side parking sensors, and wireless phone mirroring technology, which are not present in the Kia Sonet.
