Kia teases Syros SUV again ahead of debut
Kia has released another teaser video for the forthcoming Syros SUV, which is set to be officially unveiled on December 19. This latest teaser highlights the SUV's distinctive shape, characterized by a design language reminiscent of Recreational Vehicles. Additionally, the video provides a first look at the design of the alloy wheels. The Syros will be positioned in the market between Kia's two prominent SUVs in India, the Seltos and the Sonet. With the introduction of the Syros, Kia aims to appeal to a more upscale audience compared to the Sonet, suggesting that despite its sub-compact SUV dimensions, the Kia Syros is anticipated to be equipped with numerous premium features.
Bharat Mobility Global Expo to witness highest participation
The roster of automobile and two-wheeler manufacturers set to participate in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, commonly referred to as the Auto Expo, has been officially announced. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has confirmed that a total of 34 brands will be present at the six-day event scheduled to take place in Delhi from January 17 of the upcoming year. Notable car manufacturers include Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Toyota Motor, Hyundai Motor, Kia, JSW MG Motor, Skoda, and Volkswagen. In the two-wheeler category, prominent companies such as Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Suzuki Motorcycle, and Yamaha are expected to participate. Additionally, electric scooter and motorcycle manufacturers like Ather Energy and Ola Electric will make their debut at the Auto Expo.
Nissan Motor reaffirms India plans amid turmoil
Nissan Motor, the prominent Japanese automotive manufacturer, has expressed its determination to remain resilient in the face of the ongoing financial challenges and to proceed with its strategic initiatives in India, aiming to enhance its position in the world's third-largest automotive market. To bolster production capacity, the company has expanded its workforce by an additional 600 employees at its Chennai facility. Furthermore, Nissan intends to introduce five new vehicle models in India by 2027, thereby expanding its current lineup, which includes the Magnite and X-Trail SUVs. This announcement follows the company's decision to implement a global reduction of 9,000 jobs and a 20 percent decrease in production as part of its comprehensive turnaround strategy.
BS 3 petrol, BS 4 diesel car ban return in Delhi
Delhi's pollution levels have significantly worsened, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) falling into the 'very poor' category on Monday. In response to the declining air quality, the Centre's air quality panel has implemented GRAP 3 (Graded Response Action Plan) in the city, which has since been escalated to GRAP Stage 4 measures. These regulations limit the operation of BS 3 petrol and BS 4 diesel vehicles, as well as non-essential commercial vehicles in the Delhi-NCR region. This marks the second instance since November 15 that the national capital has experienced a vehicle ban due to elevated pollution levels.
