The German luxury automobile manufacturer is set to introduce the electric SUV on January 9, coinciding with the debut of the electric version of the G-Wagon SUV. The EQS 450 will serve as the entry-level model within the EQS SUV lineup. Previously, Mercedes launched the Maybach EQS 680 SUV and the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 in the Indian market. This electric vehicle will feature a 122 kWh battery pack, anticipated to provide a range exceeding 500 kilometres on a single charge.

Audi, the prominent German automobile manufacturer, has declared a recall for two of its premier electric vehicle models in India. The affected vehicles are the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT performance electric cars. This recall pertains to 31 units of both models that were sold, all of which were produced between January 9, 2020, and February 16, 2024. The action has been taken to mitigate a possible fire risk stemming from overheating issues. The luxury automaker indicated that certain individual cell modules within the battery pack may exhibit technical anomalies.
Porsche Issues Recall for Its Initial Electric Vehicle in India
Porsche has initiated a recall of the Taycan electric vehicle, which is the brand's inaugural electric model, in India. The German automotive manufacturer has voluntarily recalled over 170 units of the Taycan sedan due to a potential defect in the battery cell or module. The affected vehicles were produced between October 21, 2019, and March 4 of this year. This recall aims to address an issue within the battery module supplier's system that may result in a short circuit, potentially leading to the risk of the electric vehicle igniting after experiencing thermal throttling.
