Kia India has declared a voluntary recall for the EV6 luxury electric SUV. This recall affects 1,380 units of the Kia EV6, produced from March 3, 2022, to April 14, 2023. The company indicated that the recall is prompted by a potential concern with the integrated charging control unit (ICCU), which could impact the functionality of the 12-volt auxiliary battery in the vehicle.
Kia EV6 Recalled Again
This marks the second recall of the Kia EV6 in India, following a previous recall last year for a similar issue related to the ICCU. Kia intends to proactively inform owners about a prompt software update for their vehicles. Additionally, customers have the option to contact their local dealers to schedule an appointment for the necessary service update. The automaker has commenced communication with the customers impacted by this recall.

Kia EV6 Facelift India Launch Soon
The matter at hand pertains to the pre-facelift version of the EV6 that is currently available for purchase. However, Kia India is preparing to launch the facelifted EV6, which was first showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo. This updated electric SUV features a refreshed design and incorporates new functionalities while retaining the same foundational structure. The EV6 is constructed on the E-GMP platform, and the facelift will be equipped with a larger 84 kWh battery pack that offers greater energy density compared to its predecessor. It is expected to deliver a range exceeding 650 km on a single charge.
Kia will provide the EV6 facelift in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The all-wheel drive variant, featuring two electric motors, generates a combined output of 320 bhp and 605 Nm of torque. Additionally, this model supports faster charging capabilities, now accommodating a 350 kW fast charger, which enables the battery to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes.
Kia EV6 Facelift Features
The interior of the refreshed Kia EV6 features a redesigned two-spoke steering wheel, a fingerprint sensor for keyless driver identification, an enhanced Head-up Display (HUD), and a new digital rearview mirror. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with AI-driven navigation, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), dual 12.3-inch curved displays, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, wireless charging capabilities, and more.
In India, reservations for the Kia EV6 facelift opened on January 17, 2025, shortly following its unveiling, with the official launch expected in March of this year. Deliveries are anticipated to commence shortly after the pricing announcement.
