1 month ago | 5 Views
Kia has unveiled the initial images of its forthcoming electric vehicle, the EV4, in anticipation of its global launch scheduled for Kia EV Day on February 27. Previously, the Korean automaker had provided a glimpse of the EV4 in its concept form, alongside two additional upcoming models, the EV2 and PV5 concepts. Production of the EV4 is expected to commence by the end of this year, with a global market introduction anticipated in 2026. The vehicle is set to compete with rivals such as the Tesla Model 3, MG 4, and Volkswagen ID.4, among others in its category.
The EV4 was first presented in concept form in 2023, and the latest version closely resembles the original concept unveiled two years prior. Upon its release, the EV4 will be available in two configurations: as an electric sedan and a hatchback, the latter being slightly more compact.
Kia EV4: Design elements revealed
The images released by the manufacturer today highlight both the sedan and hatchback variants. They reflect Kia's new design philosophy, which has already been showcased in the latest generation of electric vehicles, such as the EV9. Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design, remarked, “The EV4 sedan offers a modern interpretation of the sedan, featuring a sleek, low front end and an elongated silhouette. The EV4 hatchback is designed to be agile and versatile, excelling in various scenarios with its distinctive and clean lines.”
In line with other new-generation Kia electric vehicles, the EV4 incorporates the signature 'Tiger Face' design at the front, characterized by vertically oriented headlights and streamlined daytime running lights. The vehicle presents a sporty appearance, featuring a wide stance and a sloping roofline that tapers towards the rear, resembling a long-tail design. Additionally, the EV4 is equipped with a two-piece rear spoiler, vertical LED taillights, and is mounted on 19-inch alloy wheels.
Kia EV4: Details on interior, battery, range under wraps
Kia has yet to disclose any specifics regarding the dimensions of the EV4. Information concerning the interior design and features is also being withheld. It is anticipated that the EV4 will utilize the same foundational structure as the EV6, which is built on Kia's E-GMP platform. Currently, there are no available details regarding the battery specifications, potential range, or charging capabilities.
