1 month ago | 5 Views
The Kia Carens made its debut in the Indian market in 2021. Since its launch, the vehicle has not undergone any significant updates. However, it is anticipated that the first facelift for the Kia Carens will be introduced in the latter half of 2025. Currently, Kia has not provided any official confirmation regarding the launch date for the Carens facelift. The test mule for the forthcoming facelift has been spotted on Indian roads multiple times. This raises the question of what modifications can be expected in the new model.
Kia Carens Facelift: Expected exterior changes
The upcoming Kia Carens facelift is expected to feature a redesigned front fascia, updated lighting clusters, and alterations to the rear section. A notable enhancement is anticipated to be a new lighting element, inspired by Kia's latest design language seen in other models, such as the EV5. The MPV may include Starmap LED components and distinctive triangular lights.
There may be minimal alterations to the side profile, along with more aggressive alloy wheels. Standard features such as body cladding, door side moldings, traditional door handles, and blacked-out A, B, and C pillars are likely to be retained from the current model. At the rear, the Carens facelift could introduce vertically stacked taillights, potentially connected by an LED strip to enhance its modern appeal. The bumper may also receive a redesign.
Kia Carens Facelift: Expected features
The new Kia Carens is expected to undergo significant updates in terms of features and technology. A key highlight of the facelift is likely to be the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Additionally, the new model is expected to be equipped with a 360-degree camera system.
The cockpit is set to receive a significant redesign, incorporating features inspired by the Syros SUV. The updated Carens is anticipated to showcase the 30-inch Trinity panoramic display, which debuted with the Syros. This display configuration combines a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with a 12-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 5-inch digital panel dedicated to managing the fully automatic air conditioning system, thereby enhancing the overall cabin experience.
Additionally, the facelift may introduce ventilated second-row seats to complement the existing front-ventilated seats, further improving passenger comfort. The Carens already boasts a robust safety suite, including six airbags, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, hill start assist, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, downhill brake control, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Kia Carens Facelift: Expected specs
The Kia Carens facelift is likely to retain its current powertrain options. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine generates 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-liter turbo petrol variant delivers 158 bhp and 253 Nm, available with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT. Meanwhile, the 1.5-liter diesel engine produces 114 bhp and 250 Nm, offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
