Kia Announces Price Hike: Cars to Get Costlier by 3% from April 1
4 days ago | 5 Views
Kia India has declared a 3 per cent increase in the prices of its vehicles, effective from April 1, 2025. This adjustment will affect the entire range of models offered by the manufacturer. The decision is attributed to the rising costs of commodities and the increasing expenses associated with the supply chain.
Currently, Kia's lineup in India includes models such as the Sonet, Carnival, Carens, EV9, Seltos, Syros, and the EV6. While the specific price adjustments for each model will be revealed as the implementation date approaches, potential buyers are encouraged to place their orders before April 1 to avoid the forthcoming price increase.
In February, Kia India reported a year-on-year growth of 23.8 per cent, with sales reaching 25,026 units compared to 20,200 units sold in February 2024. Despite this growth, the company has opted to raise prices in line with similar actions taken by its competitors.
In February, Kia sold 5,245 units of the Syros, which has garnered over 20,000 bookings since its launch. The Kia Sonet was the top-selling model, with 7,598 units sold, followed by the Seltos at 6,446 units. The Carens MPV maintained strong performance with 5,318 units dispatched last month, while the new Carnival received favourable attention with 239 units sold. Additionally, Kia exported 2,042 units to more than 70 international markets during February.
Official statement from Kia India
In response to the price adjustment, Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, remarked: "As a brand dedicated to delivering outstanding value and quality to our customers, we have consistently aimed to provide the finest vehicles at competitive prices. Nevertheless, due to the escalating costs of raw materials and inputs, we will be implementing a price increase of up to 3% across all Kia models, effective April 1, 2025. We recognize that price changes can pose challenges; however, this decision is essential to ensure that we continue to offer the high-quality, technologically advanced vehicles that our customers have come to expect from Kia."
He also highlighted that Kia is absorbing a substantial portion of the increased costs to minimize the impact of the price increase on customers.
