Kia has officially commenced bookings for the Syros SUV, starting today at 12 midnight. This new sub-compact model made its Indian debut on December 19 and is designed to provide a premium experience with an array of features. The Syros now complements Kia's existing SUV lineup in India, which includes the Sonet and Seltos and will be positioned between these two models. It is set to compete with vehicles such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and Hyundai Venue.
Customers can secure their booking for the Kia Syros SUV with a token amount of ₹25,000. Bookings are available at Kia showrooms throughout India or via the official website of the manufacturer. Deliveries of the Syros SUV are anticipated to begin next month, following the announcement of pricing on February 1, with an expected starting price of ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia Syros: Available Variants and Color Selections
The Kia Syros SUV will be offered in six distinct variants: HTX, HTX Plus, HTX Plus Optional, HTK, HTK Optional, and HTK Plus. Customers will have the option to choose from eight single-tone exterior colour selections, featuring the newly introduced Frost Blue shade that was highlighted during the Syros launch event. Inside, the SUV will present a dual-tone Black and Grey interior complemented by matte orange accents.
Kia Syros: Specifications
Kia has equipped the Syros SUV with an array of features that surpass those found in higher segments. It features an impressive 30-inch trinity panoramic dual-screen configuration that integrates both the touchscreen infotainment system and the instrument cluster. Additionally, it provides wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as ventilated seating in both the front and rear rows. The second-row seats are designed to slide and recline, and the vehicle includes a wireless charging pad and dual USB ports, among other amenities. Furthermore, the SUV is fitted with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, which is particularly popular among Indian consumers.
Kia Syros: Safety Attributes
Kia has prioritized safety in the Syros by incorporating a variety of features. At the forefront is the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), which includes 16 sophisticated adaptive features, such as lane-keeping assist. Additionally, the SUV is equipped with a hill start assist, electronic stability control, six airbags, a 360-degree parking camera, and front parking sensors, among other safety enhancements.
Kia Syros: Powertrain and Gearbox
Kia is presenting the Syros SUV with a choice of two engine variants. This SUV will be equipped with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol variant is capable of delivering up to 118 bhp of power along with 172 Nm of peak torque. In contrast, the diesel engine generates 116 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both engine options are paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the petrol engine offers a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel variant is available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
