The 2025 Kawasaki Z650RS has been introduced to the Indian market, priced at ₹7.20 lakh ex-showroom. The sole update for this year is the introduction of a new color scheme named Ebony. In comparison, the 2024 Z650RS was launched at a price of ₹6.99 lakh ex-showroom.

This new color scheme features a combination of black and gold, with gloss black serving as the primary color, accented by a gold stripe on the fuel tank and tail. The alloy wheels are also finished in gold, enhancing the overall aesthetic. However, it is somewhat unexpected that Kawasaki opted not to apply a golden finish to the front forks.

A notable enhancement in the Z650RS is the inclusion of the Kawasaki Traction Control System (KTRS), which is designed to improve safety, particularly on wet or loose gravel surfaces.

The Z650RS is characterized by its classic styling, which is paired with a modern engine. It showcases a round headlamp at the front, dual analogue gauges with a central digital display, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a streamlined tail section.

Powering the Z650RS is a 649 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, identical to that found in the Ninja 650 and Versys 650 models. This engine produces a maximum power output of 67 bhp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,700 rpm. The motorcycle features a 6-speed transmission equipped with an assist and slip clutch.

Kawasaki utilizes a tubular diamond frame, complemented by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The front suspension offers 125 mm of travel, while the rear provides 130 mm. For braking, the Z650RS is fitted with dual 272 mm discs at the front and an 186 mm disc at the rear.

Prior to the Z650RS, Kawasaki launched the Ninja 1100SX sports tourer, which is priced at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes with several upgrades, including a larger powertrain. Dealers began accepting bookings for this new sports tourer a few weeks ago, with deliveries expected to start early next year.
