KTM Duke 125 and KTM RC 125 have established themselves as popular high-performance 125 cc motorcycles in India. However, the company has made the decision to cease sales of these models in the country. Effective April 1, both the Duke 125 and RC 125 will be discontinued. The 125 cc engines in these motorcycles will not receive the OBD-2D updates, as KTM deems this upgrade economically unfeasible.

The Duke 125 was introduced in India in 2018, followed by the RC 125 a few years later. At that time, KTM believed there was a viable market for premium and sporty 125 cc motorcycles in India, and the company achieved respectable sales figures. Nevertheless, competitors such as the Yamaha R15 and MT15 have consistently outperformed in terms of sales.

KTM attempted to revitalize interest in the Duke 125 and RC 125 through various model year updates, but this approach did not yield the desired results. Instead, the company shifted its focus to the 390 series models, which have gained traction due to their larger engines and superior performance compared to the 125 cc offerings. Additionally, the changing preferences of Indian consumers towards larger and more premium motorcycles have contributed to the decline in popularity of the 125 series.

In light of these factors, KTM has concluded that further investment and upgrades to the 125 cc motorcycle range are unwarranted. This decision aligns with the company's strategy to streamline its product offerings in India.

While the Duke 125 and RC 125 will no longer be produced, these models may still be available at dealerships for a limited time, as it will take some time to deplete existing stock. Consequently, consumers can anticipate attractive deals, including cash discounts, insurance benefits, and warranty offers on the 125 cc models.
