The automotive sector operates at a rapid pace, making it challenging to stay informed. However, HT Auto is committed to providing timely updates on significant developments within the industry. Below is a summary of the key highlights from Tuesday, January 24.
2025 Honda Activa launched
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the 2025 Activa 110, upgrading the scooter to comply with upcoming emission regulations. The starting price for the 2025 Honda Activa is ₹80,950 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it now adheres to OBD-2B standards. The scooter features several new additions, including a digital instrument console.
The refreshed model is equipped with alloy wheels and an idle start/stop mechanism. A notable improvement is the inclusion of a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, which has become a common feature in Honda's two-wheeler offerings in India. This display is compatible with the Honda RoadSync application, providing features such as navigation and notifications for calls and SMS. Furthermore, the scooter includes a USB Type-C charging port. The 2025 Honda Activa is available at HMSI dealerships across the country and competes with other models like the TVS Jupiter and Hero Pleasure Plus.
Ather Rizta gets multiple language support
Ather Energy has upgraded the Rizta electric scooter by incorporating a multi-language interface. The revised Ather Rizta now supports eight regional languages—Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—alongside English. This new language functionality will be available to existing Ather customers via an over-the-air (OTA) update. The company has announced that the initial rollout will feature the Hindi dashboard, with the other regional languages to follow shortly.
According to Ather Energy, there is a significant inclination among Indians to interact with digital content in their native languages. The company referenced the Internet in India 2024 report by IAMAI and Kantar, which indicates that 98 per cent of Internet users engaged with content in Indic languages last year, whether it involved reading articles, viewing videos, or seeking information. This insight has motivated the electric two-wheeler manufacturer to introduce multiple languages to its dashboard.
