Isuzu Tops Commercial Vehicle Exports in India with 24% Growth in FY2025

Isuzu Motors India has reached a significant achievement by becoming the leading exporter of commercial vehicles in India. The manufacturer of the D-Max pickup successfully exported 20,312 units during the fiscal year 2024-25, reflecting a 24 percent increase compared to the 16,329 units exported in the previous fiscal year 2024. In recent years, Isuzu has consistently maintained a position among the top three exporters of commercial vehicles.

Isuzu The D-Max pickup series is manufactured in India for both commercial and personal use. A significant portion of the Japanese automaker's operations is dedicated to the sale of commercial vehicles, with the V-Cross lifestyle pickup truck following closely behind. Additionally, the company exports the domestically produced D-Max pickup to various left-hand and right-hand drive markets from its production facility located in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Isuzu India exports to several regions, including the Middle East, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan.

Commenting on this significant achievement, Rajesh Mittal, President and Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, stated, “This milestone highlights the robustness of Isuzu’s global manufacturing philosophy—Isuzu Monozukuri. These ‘Made-in-India’ vehicles exemplify our strong manufacturing capabilities, established product lineage, and our steadfast dedication to serving both domestic and international markets with pride and consistency.”

In a similar vein, Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, remarked, “We take pride in the sustained and increasing demand for ISUZU vehicles produced in India within key global markets. This impressive export performance reflects the world-class quality, reliability, and performance of our Indian-made vehicles. Over the years, our export figures have consistently risen, bolstered by a diverse product range that aligns with international standards. This achievement highlights the growing recognition of Indian manufacturing on the global platform.”

Additionally, Isuzu has announced plans to enhance its domestic footprint in India alongside its export initiatives. The company recently celebrated the production of its 100,000th vehicle at the Sri City facility, underscoring its strong manufacturing output in the country.

It is noteworthy that Isuzu continues to produce the previous generation of the D-Max range in India, even as it has introduced the new generation version in various international markets. The company recently unveiled the D-Max electric pickup concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, with plans to launch the model in international markets later this year. However, the timeline for the introduction of the new generation V-Cross in India remains uncertain.
