JSW MG has unveiled the ZS HEV, which may serve as a successor to both the ZS EV and the Astor, during the Auto Expo Motor Show 2025 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The manufacturer has yet to disclose any specifics regarding the launch of the ZS HEV; however, it is anticipated to be introduced in the country by early next year.

The newly presented vehicle boasts a comprehensive redesign in comparison to the current Astor and ZS EV models available in India. True to its name, it is equipped with a hybrid powertrain and is expected to offer a greater array of features and advanced technology than its predecessors. Here is what one can look forward to from the forthcoming MG ZS HEV.

MG ZS HEV: Design

The MG ZS HEV showcases a comprehensive redesign, incorporating a new front bumper characterized by a prominent patterned grille, complemented by L-shaped grilles on either side. Additionally, both the headlamps and tail lamps have undergone significant updates. This model is equipped with newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels and features a distinctive character line that gracefully ascends towards the rear of the vehicle.

MG ZS HEV: Dimensions

The forthcoming SUV exhibits a marginal increase in size, with dimensions of 4,430 mm in length, 1,818 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height. The ZS HEV that has been presented will feature a cargo capacity of 443 litres and a wheelbase measuring 2,610 mm. It is noteworthy that the cargo space has experienced a slight reduction from 448 litres to 443 litres.

MG ZS HEV: Engine and performance

The SUV has been introduced to the international market, featuring a new 1500 cc, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine is complemented by a 1.83 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor. The petrol engine generates 100 bhp and 128 Nm of torque, while the electric motor delivers 134 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Consequently, the ZS HEV is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 8.7 seconds and achieving a maximum speed of 168 km/h.
