The e Vitara is built on a newly engineered platform known as HEARTECT-e, specifically designed for battery electric vehicles. The company has highlighted that this platform incorporates a lightweight design with high-voltage protection and a compact overhang, which optimizes the available interior space.
Furthermore, the battery capacity has been enhanced by removing underfloor components from the main floor of the platform. In terms of size, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has a length of 4,275 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, and a height of 1,635 mm, with a wheelbase measuring 2,700 mm. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Design
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara represents the production variant of the Maruti Suzuki eVX concept, which was unveiled at the 2023 Auto Expo. The front of the vehicle is equipped with LED headlights featuring three-piece Y-shaped daytime running lights, echoing the design of the eVX concept. Additionally, it boasts a blacked-out bumper that incorporates fog lamps and robust silver skid plates, contributing to a rugged appearance.
On the sides, the e Vitara is available with either 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on the specific variant. It also includes body cladding and rear door handles positioned on the C-pillar. The rear of the vehicle showcases connected LED tail lights, a shark fin antenna, and a roof spoiler, all of which enhance its sporty aesthetic.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Specs
The e Vitara has been introduced with two available battery pack options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Notably, both battery configurations are offered in India. While the range for the 49 kWh battery pack has not yet been disclosed, the larger 61 kWh pack is reported to provide a range of up to 500 km. In a recent press conference, Toshihiro Suzuki, the Representative Director and President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, emphasized that achieving a range exceeding 500 km was a primary goal for the e Vitara.
Additionally, the e Vitara is equipped with off-road capabilities, featuring an electric 4WD system that distinguishes the Maruti Suzuki EV from its rivals. This system, known as ALLGRIP-e, incorporates two independent eAxles at both the front and rear, ensuring enhanced control and responsiveness.
