Oben Electric has unveiled a battery protection plan for its clients. The plan, named Protect 8/80, will be available to customers beginning May 1st. It provides coverage for 8 years or 80,000 km at a cost of ₹9,999. Presented under the brand’s Oben Protect platform, the warranty guarantees complete coverage regarding battery performance, which includes repairs, replacements, and all battery-related issues.

Customers are assured that the Rorr EZ’s maximum speed and acceleration will stay the same throughout the warranty duration. Additionally, the warranty is completely transferable. Oben's LFP battery has been designed, developed, and produced in-house to meet the challenging Indian terrain and climate. The company asserts that their batteries can endure up to 50% higher temperatures, ensuring high reliability and optimal performance even in harsh conditions.

The Protect 8/80 plan is available to both existing and potential customers, covering the 3. 4 kWh and 4. 4 kWh battery options of the Rorr EZ. Designed for daily commuters, the Rorr EZ boasts an IDC range of 175 km, accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3. 3 seconds, and reaches a maximum speed of 95 km/h. It has a starting ex-showroom price of ₹89,999. The new battery warranty plan can be accessed at Oben Electric’s 36 showrooms nationwide.

Regarding features, the Oben Rorr EZ includes all-LED lighting, a floating digital instrument cluster, geofencing, theft protection, Unified Brake Assist, Driver Alert System (DAS), and more. Oben provides a thorough warranty package covering 3 years/75,000 km (whichever comes first) on the Rorr EZ. The motorcycle competes with products like the Revolt RV400 BRZ and will soon face competition from the forthcoming Ola Roadster X electric commuter.
