
Indian Car Prices on the Rise: Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors Announce Increases

1 Maruti Suzuki
As the leading car manufacturer in India by sales volume, Maruti Suzuki has raised the prices of its passenger vehicles for the third time in 2025. Starting April 1, the prices of Maruti Suzuki cars will increase by four percent. This follows a similar four percent price increase implemented in January, and another hike in February, which varied between one and four percent.

Hyundai has announced a price increase of up to three percent for its passenger vehicles in India. This adjustment affects the entire lineup of the South Korean automaker, including popular models such as the Creta and i20. The new prices will take effect on April 1. Hyundai has attributed this price adjustment to factors such as rising input costs, increased commodity prices, and higher operational expenses.
3 Tata Motors
Tata Motors has declared a price increase for its complete range of passenger vehicles, which includes models like the Nexon, Punch, Altroz, Tiago, Safari, and Harrier, specifically in the internal combustion engine segment. This latest price adjustment marks the second increase this year, following a rise of up to three percent in January that affected all passenger vehicles, including both internal combustion engine and electric models.
4 Mahindra
Mahindra, another prominent automobile manufacturer from India, has raised the prices of its SUVs by as much as three percent, attributing this increase to the rising costs of inputs and commodities. This adjustment in pricing will take effect on April 1, 2025. Earlier in January of this year, Mahindra had also raised the prices of its vehicles for similar reasons.

Kia India has declared a price increase across its entire lineup of passenger vehicles, which includes popular models such as the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens. The South Korean automotive company has implemented a price hike of up to three percent, effective from April 1, 2025. Kia has cited the rising costs of commodities and supply chain challenges as the rationale behind this decision.
6 Renault
Renault has followed suit by announcing a price increase for its range of passenger vehicles, which features models like the Kiger, Triber, and Kwid. The French automaker has implemented a two percent price hike across all its vehicles, effective from April 1.
7 Nissan
Nissan has also revealed a price increase, set to take effect on April 1. This adjustment will result in a price rise of up to three percent for the two SUVs offered by the Japanese manufacturer in India, namely the Magnite and X-Trail.
