One of the prominent features of the Auto Expo 2025 was the introduction of the Hyundai Creta Electric, which has entered the highly competitive compact electric SUV market, starting at a price of ₹17.99 lakh, ex-showroom. This segment has seen an influx of new entrants, beginning with the launch of the Hyundai Kona Electric, followed by the MG ZS EV. Currently, the segment includes four competitors, namely the Creta Electric and the ZS EV, with additional models on the horizon, such as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. Notably, 2024 marked a significant expansion in this segment with the introduction of two new models, the Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra BE 6, the latter of which has garnered considerable attention due to its innovative design.
While Hyundai has opted for a more traditional design approach with the Creta Electric, Mahindra has embraced a bold and futuristic aesthetic with the BE 6, showcasing advanced technology and a striking shape. Below is a brief comparison of these two new compact electric SUVs.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE 6: Battery and range
The Hyundai Creta Electric is equipped with two battery pack choices. The variant featuring the 42 kWh battery pack provides a range of 390 km on a single charge, whereas the 51.4 kWh version claims to deliver a range of 473 km on a single charge.
In contrast, the Mahindra BE 6 is available with the largest battery options in its category, offering 59 kWh and 79 kWh configurations. The Mahindra electric SUV, with its largest battery, boasts the longest range among its peers. The smaller battery variant can achieve a range of up to 556 km, while the larger battery is projected to provide a range of 682 km on a single charge.

Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE 6: Specs
The Hyundai Creta Electric, equipped with a 51kWh battery pack, produces 169 bhp, surpassing the power output of the Hyundai Creta N Line. In contrast, the variants featuring a smaller battery pack yield 133 bhp. According to Hyundai, the Creta Electric can accelerate from a complete stop to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
Among the three models, the Mahindra electric SUV stands out as the sole option that offers a rear-wheel drive configuration. The BE 6 electric SUV delivers a power range of 228 bhp to 277 bhp, with a peak torque of 390 Nm, depending on the selected variant. It is capable of achieving a 0-100 km/h sprint in less than seven seconds.
Hyundai Creta Electric vs Mahindra BE 6: Price
The Hyundai Creta Electric is available at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹18 lakh. It comes with two battery pack options, with the price reaching up to ₹23.49 lakh for the top-tier Excellence variant equipped with the 51.4 kWh battery pack.
In contrast, Mahindra has adopted a competitive pricing strategy for its BE 6 electric SUV, starting at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), which is nearly on par with the Creta Electric. However, the Mahindra BE 6's top variant is priced at ₹26.90 lakh, exceeding the cost of the Hyundai model by more than ₹3 lakh.
