Hyundai is preparing to unveil the Creta EV, marking a significant addition to its lineup. This electric vehicle is expected to make its debut in India at the forthcoming Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. With this introduction, the Creta will become the first model from Hyundai to offer an extensive array of powertrain options.

The Creta EV will provide consumers with a choice of petrol, diesel, and electric powertrains, complemented by various transmission options, including a manual gearbox, CVT, DCT, and automatic gearbox. Consequently, the Creta will feature the most diverse selection of powertrain configurations among all Hyundai vehicles. It is worth mentioning that the Tata Nexon and Tata Curvv also offer a broad range of powertrain choices in the Indian market.

Hyundai Creta Electric Vehicle to be introduced alongside petrol and diesel variants

Hyundai offers the Creta in both petrol and diesel engine variants. The petrol model features two engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. The naturally aspirated variant can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), delivering a peak power of 113 bhp and a maximum torque of 14 Nm. In contrast, the turbocharged petrol engine is equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), producing 157 bhp of peak power and 253 Nm of maximum torque.

The diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-litre engine that generates 114 bhp of peak power and 250 Nm of maximum torque. For the Hyundai Creta diesel, transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Creta EV will be offered with two battery pack configurations. The base model will feature a 42 kWh battery, while the long-range variant will be equipped with a 51.4 kWh battery. The smaller battery pack, combined with a single electric motor, will provide 133 bhp of peak power and an approximate range of 390 kilometres on a full charge. The larger 51.4 kWh battery pack will also be paired with a single electric motor, yielding 168 bhp of peak power and a range of 473 kilometres on a single charge. Hyundai has stated that the long-range version of the Creta EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds.
