The Hyundai Ioniq 9 made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi's Pragati Maidan. While it's already been introduced to global audiences, this marks its first appearance in India. This electric SUV is Hyundai's fourth electric vehicle in the country, following the Creta Electric.

Notably, the Ioniq 9 is the biggest electric vehicle Hyundai has brought to India. It's built on the new E-GMP platform, which is also used for the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. When it hits the Indian market, it will compete with models like the Kia EV9 and the MG M9.

Hyundai Ioniq 9: Style

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 has a super futuristic vibe, which Hyundai refers to as ‘Aerosthetic’. Up front, it features a cool parametric pixel lamp design along with compact cube-shaped headlights and an intelligent front-lighting system (IFS) that helps reduce glare for drivers coming the other way. At the back, the boat-inspired design showcases vertical LED tail lights positioned at the corners..

Hyundai Ioniq 9: Power and Distance

The SUV comes with a 110.3 kWh battery that’s said to offer a range of 620 km on one charge. You can fast charge it with a 350 kW charger, going from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes, as per the manufacturer. Plus, it features vehicle-to-load (V2L) tech and supports both 400V and 800V multi-charging.

Hyundai Ioniq 9: Strength and capability

Hyundai has rolled out the Ioniq 9 globally in three main versions: Long Range RWD, Performance AWD, and Long Range AWD. The Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive model features a 160 kW electric motor at the back. The Performance All-Wheel Drive variant packs 160 kW motors on both the front and rear, delivering power between 215 bhp and 492 bhp. Meanwhile, the Long Range AWD version combines a 160 kW motor for the rear wheels with a 70 kW motor for the front.

When it comes to speed, the Performance model can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The Long Range AWD takes a bit longer at 6.7 seconds, while the Long Range RWD version finishes the sprint in 9.4 seconds.
