The Hyundai Inster Cross EV was introduced to global markets in October 2024, representing a robust version of the battery electric micro SUV. Recently, Hyundai UK has released information regarding the pricing and specifications of this new electric vehicle, with prices starting at £28,745 (approximately ₹30.60 lakh). Currently, the Inster Cross EV is being manufactured in South Korea and is anticipated to launch worldwide within this year.

Visually, the Inster Cross EV closely resembles the standard Inster but features wider, rectangular bumpers at both the front and rear, adorned with black cladding throughout. It includes front and rear skid plates along with side rocker panels, and is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels. A roof rack is provided as standard, while an optional roof basket is available.

The Inster Cross EV is offered in a distinctive Amazonas Green Matte finish, in addition to five other color choices inherited from the Inster: Atlas White, Unbleached Ivory, Aero Silver Matte, Abyss Black Pearl, and Tomboy Khaki. Some of these colors can also be selected in a dual-tone option with a black roof. The interior maintains the same design as the standard Inster but features grey upholstery complemented by lime-yellow accents on the dashboard.

Hyundai Inster Cross EV: Battery, range, and power

Regarding its battery, range, and power, the Hyundai Inster Cross EV is equipped with a 49 kWh battery pack that powers a single electric motor. This configuration allows the rugged micro SUV to produce 113 bhp and provides a WLTP range of 223 miles (approximately 358.88 km) on a full charge. Additionally, it includes a battery heating system and a high-efficiency heat pump to enhance range and charging efficiency. The Inster Cross EV supports fast charging of up to 120 kW, enabling it to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

In addition to the standard equipment, the Inster Cross EV introduces an advanced ADAS suite, which includes Highway Driving Assist 1.5, Smart Cruise Control, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5, among other enhancements. The vehicle is equipped with comprehensive safety features, including airbags throughout, ABS, ESC, TPMS, and a blind spot monitoring system.

Inside, the Inster Cross EV boasts a 10.25-inch instrument cluster alongside a 10.25-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The driver benefits from a height-adjustable seat, while Hyundai also provides heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The cabin is designed for versatility, featuring sliding and reclining rear seats that can be folded down in a 50:50 split configuration.

Hyundai India is gearing up to launch several new electric vehicles in the Indian market, with the Creta Electric leading the lineup, which was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It remains uncertain whether the Inster or Inster Cross EV will be introduced in India. Should the Hyundai Inster Cross EV be launched in the Indian market, it would compete with the Tata Punch EV and the Citroen e-C3.
