Hyundai Creta gets new variants and features
The Hyundai Creta lineup has received enhancements for the 2025 model year, introducing new variants and features. Notably, two additional variants have been launched: the EX (O) and the SX Premium. Furthermore, the top-tier SX(O) trim has been upgraded with new features. The Hyundai Creta EX(O) is positioned above the EX trim and is priced at ₹12.97 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol variant and ₹14.56 lakh (ex-showroom) for the diesel variant. Additionally, the petrol variant with IVT transmission is priced at ₹14.37 lakh (ex-showroom), while the diesel variant with automatic transmission is available for ₹15.96 lakh (ex-showroom). The SX Premium trim, which is situated between the SX and SX (O) trims, is priced at ₹16.18 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol manual transmission. The IVT option for the petrol engine is priced at ₹17.68 lakh (ex-showroom), and the diesel variant of the Creta SX Premium starts at ₹17.77 lakh (ex-showroom).
Nissan Magnite becomes E20 compliant, crosses 50,000 exports mark
The Nissan Magnite lineup has now achieved compatibility with E20 fuel. The manufacturer from Japan has confirmed that the 1.0L naturally aspirated BR10 petrol engine that powers the Magnite is now compliant with E20 standards. In addition, the turbocharged 1.0L petrol engine, which also equips the Nissan Magnite, was previously compatible with E20. The naturally aspirated engine produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque, whereas the turbocharged variant offers 98 bhp and can generate up to 160 Nm of torque. The naturally aspirated model is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), while the turbocharged engine can be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Ola Electric to cut jobs, lay off around 1,000 employees
Ola Electric, the foremost manufacturer of electric two-wheelers in India, is set to terminate the employment of more than a thousand staff members and contract workers. As reported by Bloomberg, the company has opted to reduce its workforce in pursuit of increased profitability. Ola Electric has not yet issued a statement regarding this situation. Previously, the company had laid off approximately 500 employees last year. Following its initial public offering (IPO) last year, Ola Electric is now experiencing a decline in sales, with only about 25,000 units sold in the previous month.
