Hyundai Motor India has announced that it has sold over 6.75 lakh cars equipped with its proprietary Bluelink connected car technology. The company’s first vehicle featuring ‘connected’ technology, the Hyundai Venue, was launched in 2019. Notably, in 2024, connected cars accounted for 25.7% of the company’s retail sales, a significant increase from just 4.7% in 2019.

Bluelink is currently available in 12 models, including the i20, i20 N Line, Exter, Venue, Venue N Line, Verna, Creta, Creta N Line, Creta Electric, Alcazar, Tucson, and Ioniq 5. While the first Hyundai vehicle with Bluelink offered 35 telematics features focused on performance, convenience, safety, and security, a new digital key feature was introduced in the Hyundai Alcazar in 2024.

This feature allows customers to use their phone as the vehicle key, eliminating the need for a physical key. The same feature is now also available in the Hyundai Creta Electric. Hyundai plans to further expand its Bluelink service by adding new features and making it available in more models in the future.

Hyundai Bluelink: Key highlights

Bluelink allows users to track vehicle performance with features such as vehicle health reports, maintenance alerts, and trip history. The system also notifies users of errors via mobile notifications and displays them on the infotainment screen. This information can be accessed through the Bluelink mobile app, enabling timely corrective actions.

Hyundai offers Bluelink a complimentary three-year package that includes various safety features like SOS, auto collision notifications, Road Side Assistance (RSA), a dedicated phone helpline, and emergency contact notifications. Many customers have benefited from these safety features during emergencies, receiving prompt support through HMIL’s network.

Additionally, Hyundai Bluelink provides a range of security features to enhance safety and peace of mind. These include vehicle immobilization through the Bluelink call center in case of theft, stolen vehicle notifications, geo-fencing alerts, valet alerts, and high-speed alerts, among others. All of these features serve as active safety measures and can be accessed via the Bluelink app from anywhere in the world.
