Honda is gearing up to unveil its 0 series electric SUV concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in January. This exciting reveal will happen just before the SUV goes into production in 2026. Alongside the SUV, Honda will also showcase the 0 Series sedan prototype at the event in Las Vegas. They've been teasing both vehicles, which are part of their ambitious plan to roll out seven 0 Series electric cars by the end of the decade.
The teasers show off a sleek, futuristic design for both the SUV and sedan, which will be built on a brand-new platform developed specifically for these models. The sedan concept was previously revealed, and it looks like the SUV will carry over some of its design elements, as hinted by the teaser images. Expect to see a flat front and rear profile along with stylish LED lights that connect the design of these two electric vehicles.
Specifications of the Honda 0 Series
Honda has shared some exciting details about the technical specs of its 0 Series platform. The upcoming Honda 0 Series models will feature both single and dual-motor setups, equipped with newly designed compact e-axles. These e-axles can be installed lower in the vehicle, which helps create more space and allows for a smaller front area, ultimately boosting aerodynamic efficiency and enhancing range.
The entry-level versions of the Honda 0 Series EVs will sport a 245 bhp motor on the rear axle, providing rear-wheel drive. Additionally, there will be two dual-motor all-wheel drive options that pair the 245 bhp rear motor with a 68 bhp front motor. These electric vehicles will utilize nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery packs, which will be placed under the floor, similar to other electric models.
These battery packs will have capacities ranging from 80 kWh to 90 kWh, delivering an estimated range of around 480 kilometers on a single charge. Honda aims to make the battery pack as slim as possible to maximize space efficiency. The company has claimed that the battery packs in the 0 Series EVs will be about 8 mm thinner than those found in competing electric vehicles.
