The Honda Elevate SUV is poised to introduce an additional variant with the forthcoming Black Edition. The renowned Japanese automotive manufacturer has provided a preview of the Black Edition Elevate SUV, which is anticipated to launch next week. This new variant has already been captured in various spy photographs, and reports indicate that some units have reached dealerships. The Elevate stands as Honda's sole SUV offering in India, with a starting price of ₹11.60 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara within the compact SUV market.
While Honda's teaser for the Elevate Black Edition does not disclose extensive information regarding this new variant, the spy images suggest potential features and design elements. Currently, the Elevate is available in five primary variants: S, SV, V, VX, and ZX. Additionally, Honda introduced the Apex variant of the Elevate SUV last year, which is derived from the V and VX variants. The Black Edition is expected to be based on the top-tier ZX variant.
Honda Elevate Black Edition: Exterior, interior design changes
The Honda Elevate Black Edition is set to feature a range of aesthetic enhancements that distinguish it from the standard models. The most notable alteration will be its exterior color scheme, which will adopt a complete black finish complemented by black alloy wheels, creating a more assertive appearance. Recent spy photographs indicate that the Elevate Black Edition will also incorporate contrasting silver accents on the doors, bumpers, and roof rails.
Inside, the Honda Elevate Black Edition will showcase a cohesive all-black interior design. It is anticipated that the manufacturer will implement a glossy black finish to replace the existing silver accents on the steering wheel and dashboard. Additionally, the SUV's seating will be upgraded with new black upholstery.
Honda Elevate Black Edition: Features expected
The Elevate Black Edition will not introduce any additional features beyond those already available. It will maintain the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, the 7-inch semi-digital driver display, a wireless charging option, and a sunroof, among other amenities. Safety provisions will encompass the ADAS package, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, Hill Hold Assist, and additional features.
Honda Elevate Black Edition: Engin, transmission
The Honda Elevate Black Edition will maintain its existing mechanical specifications. The SUV will still be equipped with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This engine is capable of producing 120 bhp of power and generating a peak torque of 145 Nm.
Honda Elevate Black Edition: Price expectation
The Honda Elevate Black Edition is anticipated to serve as the premier variant of the SUV. Many of its competitors offer a black or dark edition, such as the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, Maruti Grand Vitara Black Series, and MG Astor Blackstorm. It is expected that the pricing for the Elevate Black Edition will exceed ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom).
