Honda Cars India has joined the ranks of manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Kia, and Hyundai by announcing an increase in prices for its passenger vehicles, set to take effect in April 2025. The Japanese automaker has stated that this price adjustment will apply to its entire range of passenger vehicles, aimed at partially mitigating the effects of escalating input costs and operational expenses.

This announcement marks Honda's second price increase in 2025, following a rise of up to two percent implemented in January. However, the company has not disclosed the specific amount of the upcoming price increase. Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, commented that despite attempts to absorb the increasing input costs, some adjustments in pricing have become necessary and will be transferred to consumers. "The price increase will differ by model and variant, affecting all Honda models, including the Amaze, City, City e:HEV, and Elevate," Behl noted.

Honda follows industry-wide trend

Honda's announcement coincides with similar actions taken by other prominent automakers in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki has revealed a price increase of approximately four percent, marking the brand's third price adjustment in 2025. This increase, set to take effect on April 1 of this year, will affect the entire range of Maruti Suzuki's passenger vehicles. Earlier in January, Maruti Suzuki had already implemented a four percent price hike, which was subsequently followed by another increase of one to four percent in February.

Additionally, Tata Motors, Hyundai, and Kia have each announced a three percent price increase for their respective passenger vehicle lines. As a result, vehicles from these three manufacturers will see a three percent rise in cost starting in April.

These automakers have provided similar justifications for their price increases, citing rising input and operational costs as the main reasons driving the need for these adjustments.
