Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has submitted a new design patent in India for the NT1100 tourer. This sport-tourer motorcycle is already available in international markets, indicating that the Japanese manufacturer is preparing for its introduction in India. However, Honda has yet to disclose an official timeline for the launch of the NT1100 in the Indian market.
Should Honda choose to introduce the NT1100 in India, it will be noteworthy to observe whether the motorcycle will feature the same equipment and specifications as its international counterpart. Upon its release, potential competitors may include other full-sized touring motorcycles such as the BMW R 1250 RT and the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.
Honda NT1100: Key design elements
The Honda NT1100 is a high-performance motorcycle specifically designed for touring enthusiasts. This sport-touring bike boasts a robust body with an athletic aesthetic. Its streamlined design features expansive body panels and a sophisticated grand tourer structure that is both visually appealing and attention-grabbing.
Although the design patent preview of the Honda NT1100 does not include its touring accessories, Honda provides hardcase panniers and a variety of other touring-related options for this model. The NT1100 is equipped with advanced features such as a TFT digital display on the instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, multiple riding modes, ABS, traction control, and additional functionalities.
Honda NT1100: What powers it
The Honda NT1100 sport-tourer is equipped with a 1,084 cc parallel-twin engine, which is also utilized in the Honda Africa Twin. This motorcycle delivers approximately 100 bhp of peak power and achieves a maximum torque of 116 Nm. The high-performance sport-tourer from Japan features a DCT configuration connected to a chain drive.
Honda NT1100: Brake and suspension
The Honda NT1100 is equipped with electronically adjustable Showa front forks and a mono-shock absorber to handle suspension requirements. For its braking system, the motorcycle features dual front discs and a single rear disc, all mounted on 17-inch wheels.
