Tata Motors has submitted a design patent for the steering wheel of its forthcoming Avinya model. This steering wheel differs from those found in the recent vehicles launched by Tata. Notably, the Avinya will not feature the illuminated Tata logo. The new design includes a two-spoke steering wheel equipped with touch-sensitive buttons on the sides that are illuminated. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and includes controls for cruise control, the Advanced Driver Aids System, as well as music and call functions.

Concept images and videos indicate that the Avinya will be equipped with a large, freestanding touchscreen. It will also feature a sleek, colored instrument cluster, with gear shifting managed via the right stalk. The interior design showcases a dual-tone theme, ambient lighting, and an armrest that includes storage space.

The exterior color scheme, referred to as Samudra, is inspired by the shimmering waves of the ocean. The rear section features terracotta interiors made from sustainable materials. Tata intends to incorporate matrix LED lighting in the Avinya. Other significant features will include the two-spoke steering wheel, freestanding displays, a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and a wireless phone charger.

Tata Avinya will get a stalk type gear shifter on the right side.
The Tata Avinya will feature a stalk-type gear shifter positioned on the right side. This model is part of Tata's electric vehicle lineup, which will be constructed on the EMA platform developed by Jaguar Land Rover. The Avinya's design represents a notable shift from earlier models.

A key transformation in the Avinya is its evolution from a coupe-inspired silhouette to a more crossover-oriented design, a change that Tata has been anticipated to implement during the Avinya's development. Distinctive elements of its profile include a raised stance, large wheels, retractable door handles, and integrated headlamps and tail lamps. The rear design is particularly understated, featuring a unified tail lamp and sleek black bumpers.

In addition to the new steering wheel, Tata has also submitted a design patent for the Harrier EV, which is the next electric vehicle set to be introduced in the Indian market. The company currently commands approximately 70 percent of the Indian electric passenger vehicle market. With the forthcoming Harrier EV, Tata aims to further solidify its position in this segment.
