The Royal Enfield Scram 440, which succeeds the Scram 411, has recently been introduced with a starting price of ₹2.08 lakh ex-showroom. This model was initially revealed at the Motoverse event last year. In comparison to the Scram 411, the Scram 440 features a larger engine, increased power output, enhanced features, and new colour options.

The Scram 440 is equipped with an upgraded 443 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power of 25.4 bhp and a peak torque of 34 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission. The new engine boasts a bore that is 3 mm larger, resulting in a 4.5 per cent increase in power and a 6.5 per cent increase in torque. The inclusion of a sixth gear is designed to minimize vibrations and improve fuel efficiency. Additionally, a new pull-type clutch has been introduced, which is said to enhance durability and reduce lever effort by 0.75 kg.

The suspension system remains unchanged from the Scram 411, featuring telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear, with travel measurements of 190 mm and 180 mm, respectively. The braking system has been improved, now incorporating a 300 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc. The dry weight of the Scram 440 is recorded at 187 kg, reflecting a slight increase of 2 kg over its predecessor. The bike is now equipped with a centre to stand as a standard feature, and it also includes a provision for a top box with a payload capacity of 10 kg.

In terms of features, the Scram 440 is fitted with a new LED headlamp, a switchable anti-lock braking system, a USB charger for mobile devices, and a Tripper navigation system, alongside the digital-analogue cluster that was present in the previous model. The Scram 440 is available in two variants, each offering distinct features.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Trail

The entry-level model of the Royal Enfield Scram 440, known as the Trail, has been specifically engineered for off-road applications. With a price tag of ₹2.08 lakh, ex-showroom, this variant features classic spoke wheels complemented by tube-type tyres. Additionally, the available colour options for this trim are Blue and Green.

Royal Enfield Scram 440: Force

The premium Force variant is designed specifically for touring aficionados. It is equipped with alloy wheels that come with tubeless tyres and offers three colour options: Force Blue, Force Grey, and Force Teal. The Royal Enfield Scram 440 Force is available at a price of ₹2.15 lakh, excluding showroom charges.
