Exploring the New 4x4 in Jeep Meridian Limited (O): 5 Essential Facts
2 months ago | 5 Views
1 Jeep India has reintroduced the 4X4 feature in the Meridian SUV's Limited (O) variants in response to significant customer interest. Previously, the 4X4 drivetrain was exclusive to the top-tier Overland variant. Now, consumers can enjoy improved off-road capabilities at a more competitive price of ₹36.79 lakh (ex-showroom), which is ₹1.70 lakh lower than the Overland variant. Consequently, the Limited (O) variant is now the sole model in the Meridian lineup offering both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options.
2 In terms of aesthetics, the Jeep Meridian boasts a robust and muscular appearance, complemented by its iconic Jeep-style grille at the front. The area beneath the LED headlights features a black treatment, while a chrome strip adorns the lower section of the front fascia. At the rear, the LED tail lights are enhanced with satin chrome accents and a horizontal bar. Additionally, the side profile of the updated Meridian showcases trapezoidal wheel arches.
3 The Meridian 4X4 variant is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Jeep offers this variant with both a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic transmission. In contrast, the Overland variant's 4X4 system is exclusively paired with the automatic gearbox, providing Limited (O) buyers with greater control over their driving experience.
4 To further enhance the appeal of the Meridian, Jeep has launched a new accessories pack available for all variants. This package includes a stylish hood decal, side body decal, eyeliner accents, and programmable ambient lighting. These aesthetic enhancements allow customers to customize their SUVs for a more unique appearance, although the pricing for these accessories has yet to be disclosed.
5 The Jeep Meridian is positioned in the market with a competitive pricing structure, beginning at ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level variant and escalating to ₹38.49 lakh for the highest specification model. The introduction of the Limited (O) 4X4 variant, priced at ₹36.79 lakh, is designed to appeal to consumers seeking a premium SUV that accommodates seven passengers while maintaining off-road capabilities. In this segment, the Meridian faces stiff competition from notable rivals such as the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner, providing a compelling combination of performance and luxury.
