Hyundai Motor India is preparing to kick off the new year with significant momentum by unveiling the much-anticipated Creta EV on January 17, 2024. This launch coincides with the inaugural day of the Bharat Mobility Show 2025, marking it as a key event for the brand in the upcoming year. The new Hyundai Creta EV will enter a fiercely competitive market, facing strong contenders such as the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 (formerly referred to as BE 6e), MG ZS EV, BYD Atto 3, among others.

Hyundai Creta EV: What To Expect?

The Hyundai Creta ranks among the brand's top-selling models, and the forthcoming electric variant is set to enhance the compact SUV's established features. The new Creta EV will maintain a resemblance to its internal combustion engine counterpart while incorporating distinct styling elements to establish its unique identity, similar to the Creta N-Line. Anticipate the introduction of a redesigned grille, updated bumper aesthetics, and alternative alloy wheel designs.

The interior of the cabin will undergo various modifications, which will encompass a new steering wheel, a drive selector, and an updated center console. Anticipated feature enhancements are expected to include an electronic parking brake, ventilated seats, an auto-hold function, a 360-degree camera, among others. Additionally, Hyundai is likely to implement a new automatic climate control system derived from the recently unveiled Alcazar facelift. Other features will comprise a dual-screen configuration for the digital console and infotainment system, with potential improvements to the user interface to provide a layout more tailored to electric vehicles.

Hyundai Creta EV: Expected Specifications

The specifications for the Hyundai Creta EV have not yet been disclosed; however, it is anticipated that the electric SUV will feature a battery pack in the range of 45-50 kWh. The possibility of a larger battery option remains open. This configuration is expected to provide a driving range of approximately 400 km on a single charge. Power is likely to be delivered by a single motor positioned on the front axle, similar to the setup found in many of its competitors.

The Hyundai Creta EV is set to replace the Kona EV, which is no longer available in India, within the manufacturer's portfolio. This electric vehicle will be manufactured locally, and it is anticipated that its pricing will be highly competitive. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the e Vitara electric SUV at Bharat Mobility in January, leading to a close comparison between the two models. Furthermore, Toyota may introduce the newly unveiled Urban Cruiser EV later this year, which is a badge-engineered variant based on the e Vitara.
