Ducati has introduced its inaugural motocross motorcycle to the global market, named the Desmo450 MX. This model was designed for competitive racing by renowned riders Tony Cairoli and Alessandro Lupino. Currently, Ducati has no intentions of launching the Desmo450 in India due to the limited demand for motocross bikes in the country.

What powers the Ducati Desmo450 MX?

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is equipped with a single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 449.6 cc, featuring Desmodromic valves. It generates a maximum power output of 62 bhp at 9,400 rpm and delivers peak torque of 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm, with a rev-limiter set at 11,900 rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission that includes a quickshifter, which is functional exclusively for upshifts.

What underpins the Ducati Desmo450 MX?

The Desmo450 MX is supported by an aluminum perimeter frame. The front suspension consists of 49 mm upside-down forks, while the rear is equipped with a monoshock. The front suspension offers 310 mm of travel, and the rear provides 301 mm of travel, with both setups being fully adjustable. For braking, the motorcycle features a two-piston floating caliper at the front and a single-piston caliper at the rear, utilizing Galfer brake discs measuring 260 mm in the front and 240 mm in the rear. The bike is fitted with 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, shod with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid-Soft tires.

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is equipped with a range of electronic systems, including traction control, launch control, two riding modes, engine brake control, and compatibility with the X-Link app.
