Ducati has officially opened bookings for the DesertX Discovery in India. The announcement was made via the social media platform X, indicating that the Italian manufacturer will place this motorcycle between the standard and rally variants, with an anticipated price of approximately ₹21 lakh (ex-showroom).

The DesertX Discovery showcases a fresh black and Ducati Red color scheme, complemented by updated graphics. These new decals have been thoughtfully designed for easy replacement in the event of a fall. The manufacturer emphasizes that this model aims to offer greater versatility and enhanced customization options directly from the factory.

Ducati DesertX Discovery: Features

This motorcycle includes several enhancements, such as a touring windscreen, a bull-bar to protect the water pump and fuel tank, a bash plate for engine protection, and a radiator guard to prevent punctures. Additionally, it features a centre stand, aluminum cases, a subframe, and heated grips to ensure comfort during winter rides.

Furthermore, Ducati is providing complimentary turn-by-turn navigation for a period of up to five years with the Discovery variant. After this period, riders will need to purchase the service to continue accessing navigation features.

Ducati DesertX Discovery: Engine

The engine of the DesertX Discovery remains the same 937 cc Testastretta unit, delivering 108 bhp at 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox featuring Ducati Quick Shift and a slipper clutch. Notably, this model has shorter service intervals compared to its predecessors, allowing for servicing every 15,000 km or 24 months, whichever occurs first.

Previously, the manufacturer released a teaser for the motorcycle, hinting at its forthcoming launch; however, no official launch date has been confirmed as of yet.
