The Ducati DesertX Discovery adventure motorcycle has officially been introduced in India, with a starting price of ₹21.78 lakh, ex-showroom. Bipul Chandra, the Managing Director of Ducati India, remarked that the DesertX Discovery marks a pivotal advancement in Ducati's expansion within the Indian market. This model enhances the company's adventure motorcycle lineup in the country, which also features the DesertX, Multistrada V4, Multistrada V2, among others.
In terms of aesthetics, the DesertX Discovery retains the fundamental silhouette of the DesertX, albeit with unique distinguishing features. The new adventure motorcycle showcases a striking color scheme of black, white, and red, projecting a bold and dynamic persona.
Its readiness for adventure is further accentuated by protective elements such as a bull-bar encircling the fuel tank, an elevated windscreen, a radiator guard, a belly guard, an engine bash plate, a central stand, and hard-case panniers. Additionally, the manufacturer offers replaceable components, allowing riders to tailor and enhance the motorcycle's versatility according to their preferences.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Hardware and features
The Ducati DesertX Discovery is equipped with a range of sophisticated features. It includes a five-inch TFT display that supports smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, which is complimentary for the first five years before a subscription is required. Other notable features comprise heated grips for added comfort.

In terms of suspension, the motorcycle features 46 mm USD front forks and a fully adjustable KYB monoshock at the rear. The front is equipped with a double disc brake measuring 320 mm in diameter, while the rear utilizes a 265 mm disc. The off-road capabilities are enhanced by 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels.
Ducati DesertX Discovery: Specs
The Ducati DesertX Discovery is equipped with a 937cc liquid-cooled Testastretta 11-degree desmodromic engine, paired with a six-speed transmission. This powertrain delivers an output of 111.5 bhp at 9,250 rpm, along with a maximum torque of 92 Nm. To enhance its performance capabilities, the motorcycle incorporates advanced rider assistance technologies, including engine brake control, cruise control, multiple ride and power modes, wheelie control, and a bi-directional quick shifter, among other features.
