The Citroen Basalt is poised to introduce a Dark Edition in the near future. The company has recently hinted at this forthcoming variant through its social media platforms. Additionally, it is anticipated that both the Citroen C3 Aircross and C3 will also receive a Dark Edition later this year.

Launched in the previous year, the Citroen Basalt serves as the third model built on the company’s India-specific C-Cube platform. The latest teaser indicates that the Citroen Basalt Dark Edition will feature a completely black exterior, with chrome accents replaced by dark chrome elements. This alteration will affect the chrome slats on the front grille as well as the Citroen and Basalt emblems, which will adopt a dark chrome color scheme. Furthermore, the dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels are expected to remain unchanged.

Citroen Basalt Dark Edition: Interior and Technology

The dark theme will extend to the interior as well. The teaser revealed an all-black cabin with black upholstery. It is anticipated that the Basalt will maintain its existing interior layout, incorporating black elements. Consequently, the dashboard is likely to showcase a monochromatic black design, moving away from the previous beige and bronze color scheme. The air conditioning control switches are also expected to feature a dark chrome finish.

Regarding features, no significant modifications are anticipated. The Basalt is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with automatic climate control. In terms of safety, the coupe SUV is standardly equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera with sensors, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Citroen Basalt Dark Edition: Specs

The Citroen Basalt Dark Edition is anticipated to be exclusive to the highest specification variant. Consequently, this edition will be equipped with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 109 bhp. Available transmission options consist of a 6-speed manual that produces 190 Nm of torque and a torque converter automatic that generates 205 Nm. The manual version of the 1.2 turbo petrol achieves a fuel efficiency of 19.5 kmpl, while the automatic variant offers a fuel economy of 18.7 kmpl.
