Fast forward to the Auto Expo 2025, and Hero MotoCorp has now entered the segment with the Xoom 160, signaling its intention to capture a larger share of the growing premium two-wheeler market in India. The Hero Xoom 160, positioned as a flagship model above the Xoom 110 and Xoom 125 variants, will now face off against the Yamaha Aerox 155. The Hero Xoom 160 is priced at ₹1.48 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Yamaha Aerox 155 is available between ₹1.49 lakh and ₹1.53 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes the Hero Xoom 160 more affordable, undercutting the Yamaha Aerox 155 by ₹1,000 to ₹4,000, giving it a competitive edge in the market.
Hero Xoom 160 vs Yamaha Aerox 155: Specifications
The Hero Xoom 160 is equipped with a 156 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering 14.20 bhp of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Meanwhile, the Yamaha Aerox 155 features a similar liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 14.49 bhp of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 13.9 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Both scooters are powered by four-valve, liquid-cooled engines, offering nearly identical peak power outputs and comparable torque at the same rpm.
