Bajaj Unveils Teaser for Upcoming Pulsar: Speculation Abounds!

3 days ago | 5 Views

Bajaj Auto has unveiled a new teaser that suggests the introduction of a new motorcycle within its Pulsar lineup. This teaser, disseminated through the manufacturer’s social media platforms, features a brief audio clip showcasing the exhaust sound of the forthcoming bike, which is anticipated to be a fully-faired model bearing the RS designation. Given the limited offerings in Bajaj's RS series, it is likely that either an updated RS200 or an entirely new RS400 is forthcoming.

The RS200 has been a staple in Bajaj's portfolio for many years and has not undergone a significant update for some time. Should the teased motorcycle indeed be the refreshed RS200, it may incorporate various enhancements to modernize the existing model.

Alternatively, the RS400 could also be the motorcycle hinted at in the teaser, thereby broadening the RS lineup. The recently launched Bajaj NS400Z in 2024 could serve as a foundational platform for the new RS400.

Bajaj RS200:

The forthcoming Bajaj RS200 is anticipated to be equipped with advanced features. Potential enhancements may include a fully digital instrument panel, which could offer Bluetooth connectivity and facilitate turn-by-turn navigation.

While the fundamental 199.5cc engine, producing 24.16 bhp at 9,750 rpm and 18.7 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, is expected to remain the same, Bajaj may implement improvements in handling and ride comfort. For example, the introduction of USD front forks could improve stability and lend a more premium feel to the model. However, these enhancements may lead to a modest increase in price, positioning the RS200 in competition with models such as the Yamaha R15 V4 and Hero Karizma XMR.

Bajaj RS400:

The Bajaj RS400 is anticipated to be the forthcoming motorcycle, aimed at enhancing the brand's footprint within the fully-faired category. It is likely that Bajaj will utilize the platform of the recently unveiled NS400Z. Should the RS400 be launched, it is projected to be equipped with the same 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the NS400Z, which is capable of generating 39.45 bhp at 8,800 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is expected to be mated to a six-speed transmission.

Regarding features, the RS400 may offer switchable traction control and various riding modes. The motorcycle is also expected to feature LED lighting throughout, along with components such as USD front forks and a gas-charged rear mono shock. Braking performance would be managed by front and rear disc brakes, complemented by dual-channel ABS.
