The BYD Sealion 7 is set to make its debut tomorrow, February 17, 2025. This electric performance SUV was first revealed to the Indian audience at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025, and bookings are already open. Once it hits the market, the Sealion 7 will join other BYD offerings in India, including the Atto 3, Seal, and eMax 7.

This four-door electric SUV features a stylish coupe-like roofline, keeping up with the trend of modern vehicles. The Sealion 7 showcases BYD's Ocean series design, highlighted by its sleek ‘double-u’ LED headlights and LED daytime running lights (DRL) at the front.

It sports flared wheel arches with black cladding, and at the rear, you’ll find wraparound LED taillights linked by a chic LED light bar, a dual-tone rear bumper, and two spoilers—one on the roof and another on the boot lid. Buyers can choose from four color options: Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Shark Grey.

BYD Sealion 7: Specifications

The BYD Sealion 7 is set to come in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. Both versions will feature the same 82.6 kWh battery. The RWD variant delivers a peak power of 308 bhp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm, allowing it to travel up to 560 kilometers on a single charge.

On the flip side, the AWD version cranks out a hefty 523 bhp and 690 Nm of torque, with a range of up to 530 kilometers.

BYD Sealion 7: Highlights

This EV is packed with cool features, like a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen for infotainment. Inside, you’ll find a panoramic glass roof, front seats that adjust electrically and come with heating and ventilation, two-zone automatic climate control, a 12-speaker sound system, and a head-up display.

The Sealion 7 comes with an ADAS package and a driver monitoring system. What's cool is that both versions of the Sealion 7 will have the same features.

BYD Sealion 7: Anticipated cost

When it hits the market, the BYD Sealion 7 is set to take on competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo EX40, and Volvo C40 Recharge in India. This model will be the brand's flagship in the country, positioned above the Seal. The starting 'Premium' variant is anticipated to be priced around ₹50 lakh, while the high-end 'Performance' variant could go for about ₹60 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.
