BMW iX1 LWB Electric Debuts at Auto Expo 2025: Impressive 531 km Range and Local Production

The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase Electric was launched in India at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, listed at an ex-showroom price of ₹49 lakh. It will be made locally at the BMW Group plant in Chennai.
The battery-electric SUV runs on a single motor located at the front, combined with a single-speed transmission. It features a 66.4 kWh battery that provides a MIDC driving range of 531 km. This setup delivers 204 bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm.
BMW has launched the iX1 LWB Electric in India, and it comes with the M Sport Interior package. This package features sleek aluminium door sills with M badging and the cool M Door Projector. Plus, the SUV is equipped with a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system for an awesome sound experience.
The cabin features a steering wheel wrapped in leather and is dressed in plush vegan leather.
The iX1 LWB Electric features a sleek widescreen curved display that combines a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment screen. It's all driven by BMW OS 9, offering a variety of connected features.
BMW says the iX1 LWB Electric has the longest wheelbase in its class, making it super easy to get in and out of the back. The rear seats can tilt back by 28.5 degrees for extra comfort.
