BMW Motorrad has officially unveiled the new R12 GS for the global market. This classic enduro motorcycle draws design inspiration from the R80 GS and will be part of the R12 family. Currently, the brand has not announced any intentions to introduce this new model in the Indian market.
What powers the BMW R12 GS?
The BMW R12 GS is equipped with a 1,170 cc boxer engine that utilizes air and oil cooling. This engine is calibrated to deliver a maximum power of 107 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 6-speed transmission and a shaft drive system. Notably, the exhaust system is positioned on the left side of the motorcycle.
The BMW R12 GS features multiple riding modes, including Rain, Road, and Enduro, along with an additional Enduro Pro mode available through the Enduro Package Pro. It comes standard with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and engine drag torque control (MSR).
For off-road applications, the DTC can be completely disabled on the new BMW R12 GS. Furthermore, the R12 GS includes engine drag torque control (MSR) as a standard feature.
