BMW Motorrad has released a teaser for the forthcoming R 12 GS enduro motorcycle, which is set to make its global debut on March 27, 2025. This new model will be based on the R 12 nineT roadster, presenting an enduro-oriented design. The teaser provides minimal information regarding the motorcycle's appearance, aside from its name.

What to anticipate from the BMW R 12 GS?

BMW Motorrad has previously shared insights into what the new R 12 GS will offer. This off-road enduro will closely resemble the R nineT roadster, featuring a single-sided swingarm and a shaft final drive. Additionally, the bike is expected to maintain a similar aesthetic to the R nineT, with the exception of off-road enhancements such as 12-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels fitted with knobby tires, an upswept exhaust, and increased ground clearance.

Anticipate minimal bodywork on the motorcycle to maintain a lightweight design, enhancing its off-road capabilities. Additionally, it will feature an upgraded suspension system with longer travel, potentially inspired by the HP2 Enduro model.

The forthcoming BMW R 12 GS will be powered by a 1,170 cc air and oil-cooled boxer twin engine derived from the R 12 nineT. In that model, the engine is calibrated to deliver 108 bhp and 115 Nm of maximum torque, coupled with a 6-speed transmission. It is likely that BMW will adjust the engine's tuning for the R 12 GS, possibly incorporating a larger rear sprocket.

Upcoming BMW motorcycles in 2025

The BMW R 12 GS is anticipated to arrive in India at a later date, competing with the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled in the same segment. The German manufacturer has a range of new motorcycles set to launch this year, including the highly anticipated BMW F 450 GS concept, which will be produced in India for international markets.
