BMW Motorrad is all set to introduce a new electric scooter in the Indian market. It is called the CE 02 and it is already being produced at TVS Motor’s Hosur manufacturing plant. The electric scooter sells in the global market for around USD 7,599 (around 6.2 lakh) so it can be expected that once launched, the BMW CE 02 will cost upwards of 6 lakh in the Indian market.

BMW CE 02: Powertrain

The electric motor employs a belt drive mechanism for power transmission, generating a maximum power output of 54.91 Nm at 1,000 rpm. BMW utilizes a 48 V electrical system in this configuration.

BMW CE 02: Features

There are two riding modes, Surf and Flow. Apart from this, there is a reverse gear as well. Other features on offer are an LED headlamp, ABS on the front wheel, a USB-C charging socket, a keyless ride and a 3.5-inch TFT display.

BMW CE 02: Hardware

The frame on duty is a double-loop steel unit. It is suspended by upside-down telescopic forks in the front and an adjustable shock absorber at the rear. There are 14-inch wheels at both ends, the front tyre measures 120/80 while the rear one is a 150/70 unit. Braking duties are performed by a disc brake at both ends. There is also an Anti-lock braking system on the front wheel.

BMW CE 02: Optional equipment

As an option, BMW offers a third riding mode that is called Flash. There is also a Highlight package that adds features such as heated grips, a highly integrated SP Connect smartphone holder, an external quick charger and a Highline colour scheme. As of now, it is not confirmed whether these things will make its way to India or not.

BMW CE 02: Optional accessories

BMW offers several optional accessories with the CE 02. There is a top case, comfort seat, footrests, side bags, cockpit fairing, additional charger and much more. But again, as of now, we do not know what all accessories will BMW offer in India.
