Maruti Suzuki Celerio becomes the most affordable car with six airbags as standard

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio lineup has received an update, now featuring six airbags as standard equipment. This enhancement positions the Celerio as the most economical vehicle in India to offer six airbags as a standard feature. However, this improved safety package has increased in the vehicle's price. The base LXi variant has experienced a price increase of ₹27,500, bringing its starting price to ₹5.64 lakh, ex-showroom. Additionally, the VXi MT and VXi CNG MT variants have seen a price rise of ₹16,000, while the VXi AMT variant has increased by ₹21,000. The ZXi MT and ZXi+ MT variants have also been subject to a price hike of ₹27,500. Notably, the pricing for the ZXi AMT remains unchanged, whereas the ZXi+ AMT variant has become more expensive by ₹32,500, resulting in a new price of ₹7.37 lakh for the top-spec Celerio.

It contends with rivals such as the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, and its counterpart, the Maruti Suzuki Swift. Recently, the Baleno has experienced a price increase of up to ₹9,000. Specifically, the Delta AGS, Zeta AGS, and Alpha AGS variants have seen their prices rise by this amount, while all other variants now reflect a price increase of ₹4,000 each compared to their previous rates.
