The local assembly of the Made-in-India Skoda Kushaq and Slavia has commenced in Vietnam. Skoda Auto has announced the opening of a new assembly plant in Vietnam, representing a crucial advancement in the brand's growth within Southeast Asia. In partnership with the Thanh Cong Group, its regional collaborator and investor, Skoda has set up a facility in Vietnam for the local assembly of the Škoda Slavia and Kushaq models. These vehicles are produced in India and transported to Vietnam as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits via the brand's logistics center in Pune, Maharashtra.

The assembly of the Kushaq began on March 26, while the Slavia is set to start shortly. The Skoda Kushaq now joins the Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs, which are already available in the market. Skoda Auto had previously announced its entry into Vietnam in September 2023, emphasizing that its operations in India will significantly aid in expanding its presence in new markets across the region.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class prices hiked

Mercedes-Benz India has raised the prices of its new-generation E-Class by up to ₹1 lakh, effective immediately. This price increase affects certain variants of the luxury sedan. The base model, the Mercedes-Benz E 200, now starts at ₹79.50 lakh, while the E 220d is priced at ₹82.50 lakh. The premium E 450 4Matic retains its price of ₹92.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

Tata Motors enters Mauritian market

Tata Motors has officially entered the Mauritian market by launching its electric vehicle (EV) range, which includes the Tiago EV, Punch EV, and Nexon EV. The Indian automaker has partnered with Allied Motors, marking its first international expansion beyond the SAARC region.

Each of these vehicles is backed by a robust manufacturer's warranty: 8 years or 1,60,000 kilometers for the battery and motor, and 7 years or 150,000 kilometers for the vehicle itself. Additionally, customers who purchase a TATA.ev will receive a complimentary 7.2 kWh home charging wall box and cable, ensuring convenient home charging solutions.
